Steven Adriaan Buddingh

Steven Adriaan Buddingh (1811-1869) was a Dutch East Indian Pastor and writer. He was born 26 March 1811 at the Kaag under Alkemade. He studied at Leiden, and became a proponent in 1832, and was promoted to doctor.

He went to Java as a home teacher with the family of a resident, and later became a minister. While in the Dutch East Indies he undertook important journeys in the interest of the Dutch East Indies Missionary and Bible Society in the low Malay.

He died 29 July 1869 at Katwijk.
