A scarce and beautiful set of plates. Short, who was present at the siege of Quebec, also wrote a book on Nova Scotia. Belle-Isle was a rugged island at the entrance to the Straits of Belle-Isle, which gave access to the St. Lawrence waterway.
Oblong folio, 6 hand colored plates, unbound as was issued in olive colored wrappers.
