A rare narrative of a hunting expedition from Sault Ste. Marie to the Red River, Lac La Plume, Edmonton and back, with extensive notes on hunting buffalo. The expedition lasted from the 19th April to 31 October 1847.
"This Journal was written, day by day, on Steamers, in Canoes, at the Forts, in Tents, or by the Camp-fires in the open—in small pocket-books easily carried; and then, on Frederick Graham's return home was copied out, chiefly by a young sister still in the school room, and by others of the family, and the manuscript remained untouched for fifty years".
Privately printed edition of perhaps only 20 copies. 4to (12 3/4 x 9 7/8 in.; 324 x 250mm).
